I used the Granger's Wash+Repel for waterproof clothing to wash four breathable waterproof shells. There were four different brands washed; REI, North Face, Columbia, and Helly Hansen. They all came out of the dryer looking brand new. The Helly Hansen has been used continually for over 15 years and now looks new again. Trail did a test ages ago and found that Nikwax was actually not the best and if I remember rightly Grangers was. However if I can find the article they said that Granny's soap flakes available from Tesco are just as good as tech wash but about a tenth of the price also it was found that Comfort pure concentrate actually worked just as well as Nikwax but not as good as Grangers.
